The 2005 Travels of Richard n Shirley

We are fulltime RV's. This means we have no other home but our motor home. We joined the Escapees RV Club and use their mail forwarding service and forum. In addition to Escapees forum, you can find us on rv.net and lrv2.com. We are Richard n Shirley on all of them. We access the internet with a Direcway satellite dish mounted on a tripod. We do set up the dish at every place we stop for the night or more. We are #2321 on datastormusers.com. Click us and you will find our current location.

We went into town and parked the car by the park and went sight seeing. This town has an active downtown. The buildings have business and they have customers. There is going to be a parade and other activities today. So, we will come back this afternoon for the lawnmower races. This is really red neck country. We came back to the RV and took off for the Locust Creek covered bridge west of town. The bridge is now over a dry creek bed as the creek has been re routed. There is a ΒΌ mile walk from the car to the bridge because of the re routed creek. We also stopped in the little town west of here where Gen. John J Perishing was born and spent his boyhood. This little town has a dead downtown and not very much in the way of business. How the advent of the automobile has changed our landscape. Back to Brookfield and lunch. And we took a nap to 2pm. It's time to get to town and see the lawnmower races. When we got there they had already started. The mowers were the tractor type and they had souped up mower motors. Fun to watch and all had a good time. There was a class for the kids to race too. Fun was had by all. And fixed the antenna with two new screws.
