The 2005 Travels of Richard n Shirley

We are fulltime RV's. This means we have no other home but our motor home. We joined the Escapees RV Club and use their mail forwarding service and forum. In addition to Escapees forum, you can find us on rv.net and lrv2.com. We are Richard n Shirley on all of them. We access the internet with a Direcway satellite dish mounted on a tripod. We do set up the dish at every place we stop for the night or more. We are #2321 on datastormusers.com. Click us and you will find our current location.

It was ac weather yesterday. We went out to eat with our class mates and we ran the ac in the car. We ran the ac last night untill the front came thru with the rain, wind and lightening. Now its thursday morning and it was 49 at 7 am. Its noon and its 61 degrees with a cool nw wind. Baby its cold outside!

This is the last day of our stay here in DuQuoin, IL. We will be headed home in the morning. Early start if we can get out of the mud. The rain brought more mud to our grassy parking are. We re looking forward to warm DRY weather. Its way to wet here.

Our tanks were dumped yesterday, I will fill the water tank today and we will be ready to go. See everybody two days from tomorrow. The satellite dish will be taken down tonight at dusk and we will be on the rode without unless there is wifi for us.

Good morning everybody. We are at the Escapees Escapade in Duquoin. The pics depect the lovely weather we had from Rita. It started raining early and it rained and rained. We all got to the fair grounds and had to wait till it was our time to be parked.

We were parked on grass that was a lake from all the rain. If you stopped moving then you lost traction. Several vechiles had to be pulled by a tractor to get them parked. We made it to our spot and slid to a stop.

We are all lined up awaiting our turn. they finally came and got us after what seemed like 30 minutes.

The opening cermonies began at 2 pm and went on for tow hours. And it rained and rained. Those on the stage were th staff and founders of the club. I asked and was told that there is about 850 rv's here. That puts the attendance close to 1600.

There is a singles group and counting them and two per rig adds up to something around 1600. what you have to get used to is we are all old with exception. Nearly all of us have graying to grey hair. The rv's go from real high dollar coaches to pick up slide ins and tiny trailers. Its very obivious who has money and who doesn't. Its also obivous that alot of people have newer to new rigs also have payments. Those with not so new to much older rv's are not making payments.
