The 2005 Travels of Richard n Shirley

We are fulltime RV's. This means we have no other home but our motor home. We joined the Escapees RV Club and use their mail forwarding service and forum. In addition to Escapees forum, you can find us on rv.net and lrv2.com. We are Richard n Shirley on all of them. We access the internet with a Direcway satellite dish mounted on a tripod. We do set up the dish at every place we stop for the night or more. We are #2321 on datastormusers.com. Click us and you will find our current location.

Its a Thursday and we are doing so well without those pills. No headaches. I'm sure the Dr wont be happy but my head doesn't hurt. So he can get over it.

We have not done much. Wednesday was a lazy day. We got up about 9 am, our normal time.Had breakfast and the dishes were done by 10 am. I do dry and put up the dishes. Since the floor was not vacuumed Wednesday, it was done Thursday. We went to the store for groceries, Petsmart for cat food and Radio Shack for a power cord for the satellite receiver. Tried the dish but we are in the trees and it did not find a satellite signal. We will try again later when we got a clear view.

My sweet DW Shirley was cleaning the stove top and pulled a back muscle. For most of you, she fell off a ladder last summer, 04, and hurt her back. This is now her second time to strain the back causing some pain. So, I did my best with dinner, chicken soft tacos, and yummy. A fast, easy dinner. Should have had a Margaretta. She will be better in a day or two.

We have till next friday week, 11/4, for the Dr appointment. Our 14 days at this COE are up tomorrow, 10/29. We did get a 14 day extension which allows us to stay here to 12/11. After our Dr appointment, we will decide what to do and where to go. We must go west or south for the winter as its to cold here to stay. Got to look at the cost of our travel and see how much that weill be. More on this as time goes by.

Its Tuesday and its three,
yes THREE days without pills and that means three,
yes THREE days without headaches.
Yes!

And it feels so good. There is something in the formulation that is not to my liking. So lets move on.

We went to the Ford house in Weatherford, Tx for our brake work. We didn't need brakes but adjustment of the emergency brake, and fixing the on ABS light was all we did. Our brakes are atleast 60%. Had them check the hoses and belt and an over due oil change. Total for the work, $387.86. Money well spent! We got brakes for two years and 10k miles. Now it's down to the tires.

The Pills, the PILLS

More of the headaches. I'm still not on the aspirin, taking advil type for the headaches and seems to be no help. I take the nitrate in the morning for its time release effect. Around noon, its time for the first advil tabs, 2. And ever two-four hours I have to take two more till I have taken six usually. I will call monday and see if there is a lower dosage and try them. Otherwise we will stop.

Tires and Brakes

I have been looking a tire and brake prices this week. Our tires are 5 years old, by date, and need replacing. Our brakes are in need of something as the ABS light stays on now. And since we are planning on going out west, good brakes are a given for the mountains out there.

We have Goodyear G159 that were put on in 2002, at least four were. The current tire is the G670RV and a G124 truck tire. We have 73219 milesonthe rv. The four tires were put on with 43260 on 7/9/02. There is a date code on a rear tire of oo. this is where we are getting the 5 years. So far we have been quoted tire from Sumitomo, Dunlop and Goodyear. The Sumitomo is the St718 series. And for Goodyear RV series. We didnt find a Dunlop rv tire series on their website. For pricing, go to the Escapees.

Our brakes were last looked at in 6/11/01 with 29561 miles. At that time, there was 50% life remaining. There is no other record of brakes in the paper work we got with the coach. We also dont know what the 50% pertaines too. Is it front or rear or both is unknown.
