The 2005 Travels of Richard n Shirley

We are fulltime RV's. This means we have no other home but our motor home. We joined the Escapees RV Club and use their mail forwarding service and forum. In addition to Escapees forum, you can find us on rv.net and lrv2.com. We are Richard n Shirley on all of them. We access the internet with a Direcway satellite dish mounted on a tripod. We do set up the dish at every place we stop for the night or more. We are #2321 on datastormusers.com. Click us and you will find our current location.

We went to Garland and saw my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids. And I came bearing gifts. My daughter-in-law was not feeling great. She is working on her teaching certificate and that means she is in teaching school. She leaves the house about 5:30 am and gets home around 6 pm. She car pools to Oak Cliff area of west Dallas. She will be doing this till May, 06.

Now I know why I dislike the big cities. Traffic. Cant say enough about how bad it is now. People drive to fast, 10+ over, and change lanes whenever.

We went to the VA clinic to have our blood taken. We will have a new cholesterol value when we see the doctor on 11/4. The last value we have was back in March, 05 and we had blood taken at Hugley Hosp for Dr Patel. The cholesterol value then was 204. We were re-evaluated and our nitrate Rx was reduced to 20 mg. We will try this and see how it goes. Since we are going to my sons house saturday, we will not take the Rx till sunday.

They next step is an appointment in Dallas at the VA hospital. The papers came in duplicate mailing today for a Dec date. For a guy having occusional chest pain and taking nitro, it would seem to me that a more urgent date would be provided. I guess my need for urgency is not a need of urgency on the hospitals part.

The day was super weather wise. Just simply superb.

And the results of the pill test

No more pills. The headaches are to bad. I took two pain tablets and still had the headache. I woke up this morning and the pain was on the left side when I went to bed it was in the middle. I will go in tomorrow for lab work and see the doctor.

Today is my mother-in-law's birthday and her daughter, my DW, is spending the day with her. The girls are going out shopping and to lunch, etc. They usually have a good time out. Girls are girls at any age.

ITS NOON ON WEDNESDAY AND HERE IS THE DAYS NEWS.

We went to the store, Walmart, and bought most of our groceries. We dont buy their meats or veggies though. Worst meats and veggies I've seen. We go to Albertsons. Better quality by far.
We have nothing else planned except cleanup the car. Tomorrow is Shirlys moms birthday and they will use the car. It will probably get a wash too. Yep, it and the rv need a bath.

I have re-started on the nitrate pills again as of today. Remember that I took them for three days last week and had sever headache for three days. Going to try it again, Since I have to get some blood tests, I can also see the doctor about the pills. All this on friday. The car will be free then.

We are having beautiful weather here. It will be low 80 with nights of low 60. There is some rain in the forecast but nothing heavy expected. Other than that, its more of the same for days to come. Our cold weather is due in late November. Untill then, its golf everyday. In shorts too.

And here is more pics of our space and a pic of the inside. One pic is looking out toward the lake and how dry it is. Also s our new outdoor carpet for keeping the feet and shoes clean which will keep the rv inside clean.

And the inside pic of the oven and bottom of the fredg. This is where the propane line for the catalytic heater line should be. Still in the planning stage but with the coming colder weather, we need a better user of propane. The stuff is expensive.

And a better pic of the space showing our covered table, chairs and the satellite dish. Not a bad spot, but like the whole place, very dry. For those on the Escapees.com forum complaining of rain, come to Texas, its dry.

Oh, how do you like the rugs?

We have moved to a non-reservable space, #31, in the "Pea Patch" by the front gate. We are in the trees and away from the water. This will be our spot till I return from Dallas VA hospital. Since I still have to hear from them, no plans are pending. We are on hold.

A pic of our new spot.

This is our new spot after we moved from on top of the hill. We are in space 72 down by the waters edge if the water were not 10.5 feet below mean level. Its been a while since there was a really good rain here. Its all brown and burnt.

Shirley was out and about while I was in Fort Worth. She was out looking for a nearby geocache. She got close but was unable to get to the area as there was a camper parked there. But she did get this pic of the local Roadrunner

I was at Randy's house. He is the guy, Palm Tree Lawn Service, that bought the riding lawn mower from us.

I also stopped by my golf partners house to see how he was doing since I had dropped off the face of the earth. His first question to me was had I won the lottery? I wish, but nope. We havent played golf in about a year. I was mowing yards and by the weekend I was too tired to play. We have not seen each other in a long time. If I can get cleared by the VA doctors, there will be a round of golf between us before Shirley and I leave the area.

The new isosorbide mononitrate 30 mg has side effects like all medication. The side effect I have from the medication is headache. Sever headache. We will stop taking it and talk to the doctor monday morning and go from there.

We moved from 76 on the hill to 72 by the water saturday morning. Saturday morning was a wet, raw day. Not really that cold but that windy. We got all ready to move and the car would not start. Jumped it from the rv and went to O'riellys for a new battery. We parked the rv in the new spot while we were gone in the car to reserve our space. Before we left, we went to the dump station and dumped tanks. Its not as windy where we are and quiter. We dont have the engine noise of the rv's climbing the hill.

Its 57 degrees and on its way to 80. Should be a georgous day. Saturday was a stay in the house with a headache day. Lets see what sunday brings.
